Home,
for many years, was used as a fulcrum by Bandeirante Fernão Dias and after
restoration became a cultural center that still retains the typical
construction of the eighteenth century, linked the roots of Antique Sink
Arraial do.
Inside,
visitors can learn through panels on the archaeological and natural riches of
the region. Exposure of the House reveals the prehistory of the region, humans
who lived in caves and animals, many of them now extinct, whose fossils were
found by scientist Peter W. Lund in the nineteenth century.
The
timeline goes through the colonial period, with the pioneers in search of gold,
and sewing with tourist attractions and biodiversity found in the park and in
the Karst region. Through totems and panels of the exhibition, the visitor can
travel through time and space, without going anywhere.
House
Fernão Dias, the visitor can choose a lighter track, and walk 1.5 km to the
Pond Sink, one of the icons of the park, or if you have more breath, walk the
trail that skirts the lake with time to watching birds, many migratory species
reach the Administrative Center, meet a mill cornmeal over a hundred years and
return to the starting point, but this time through the woods, a total distance
of 8 kilometers.
Currently
the "house of Jonathan Day" serves as the headquarters of the
Sinkhole State Park and there is also leaving groups of visitors to the
archaeological trails.
